Festival 2010

32nd edition: A snowy-white screen for 7 very short days of vertically-challenged films.
The Short Film Festival’s snowy-white screens will soon light up with a thousand and one stories coming from all over the world. Clermont-Ferrand will then simply be happy to welcome its numerous fans again: some happy, some grumpy, some sneezy (with swine flu?), some sleepy - true dreamers... Come bite the apple!

22nd International Competition

The International Competition is a rare moment, full of magic, where films from a wide spectrum intersect. Animated gems, documentaries, brilliant comedies, down-to-earth fictions, genre films or graduation shorts from some of the finest film schools out there will undoubtedly take you on a unique journey into young film creation. Just relax and enjoy the thrill.

A simultaneous English translation of films by headphones and French subtitles will be provided.

32nd National Competition

What’s so astounding about French production is how prolific it is: more than 1,300 films registered last year with as many this year. What’s astonishing about French short films is the rigorous professionality of their production, the brillliance of film-school work, and the spontaneity of the free electrons that give each vintage its own particular coloration. And Clermont is of course where this tasting takes place.

A simultaneous English translation of films will be provided by headphones.

The Lab competition has built a solid reputation with fans who rush in to experience jarring films. Electrifying combinations, arresting viewpoints, accomplished risk-taking; Clermont-Ferrand’s Lab is the right prescription for visual addicts. Come get your fix, brought to you by artists dangerously in love with images and sounds.

French subtitles will be provided.
